RHODE RACES & Events

Volunteers

Are You Interested in Volunteering?

Without the amazing, selfless enthusiasm of our volunteers, the event would not be possible.

Rhode Races is a proud supporter of many of our local non-profits and charities.  Each of our events offers a volunteer fundraising program that allows groups to support their individual causes while participating in exciting Rhode Races.  Groups contribute to our vibrant race atmosphere and earn valuable donations in exchange for fulfilling various race weekend roles.  We believe that Rhode Races can provide a unique avenue to achieve fundraising goals while fostering our local charities and running community.

Examples of Volunteer Roles:

  • Race Check In and Bib Pick up
  • Aid Stations (handing out water, hydration, nutrition, cleaning up when done)
  • Finish Line assistance (water, medal hand-outs)
  • Course marshalling
  • Set-up and breakdown of the race course and event infrastructure
  • Plogging (running while jogging, course clean up after the race)

Fundraising for Groups Explained:

  • Transparent donation structure based on volunteer hours contributed
  • Recognition for top fundraising group and volunteer groups that go “above and beyond” the volunteer role on paper.

Individual volunteers can receive a free entry to any Rhode Race Event within one calendar year of volunteering or Rhode Races swag.

From Our Volunteers:

Volunteering at Rhode Races events is a highlight of our track and cross country season. Our kids look forward to helping out and they get excited to be a part of such a huge undertaking. It is truly a team bonding experience. The folks at Rhode Races are super organized and make the volunteering process easy and fun. The donation that Rhode Races makes to the team is a great way to raise funds. We keep coming back year after year! Highly recommend volunteering with your group/team!

For the past year, members of the Prout Girls Track and Cross Country teams have volunteered in several marathon events sponsored by Rhode Races. The experience has been beneficial in several ways….they have the opportunity to participate in a volunteer effort in a safe environment that interests them, they work together in a team effort and, they they profit from the funds provided by Rhode Races for their work. From a coaching standpoint, it’s a great way to teach responsibility while fundraising for their team. My athletes have fun on race day hanging out with their friends while helping the runners and cheering them on. Last year we were able to purchase warm ups and team gifts for our volunteer work and this year they’re receiving new singlets and running shirts. Thank you to Rhode Races for the opportunity. We hope to be able to continue for as long as they’ll have us!
