Race Overview
Join us in the City-by-the-Sea for this stunning marathon, half marathon and 5k. Newport Rhode Races partners with the Annual Newport Daffodil Days Festival to give you a true Spring Newport Experience. Our courses will pass along many of the over 1,200,000 starting to bloom around the City by the Sea. (We’ll call it Dash through the Daffodils!)
The Marathon will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Easton’s Beach in Newport, RI. The Half Marathon will start at 7:45 a.m. from the same location. The 5k will follow at 8:15 am – all from the same beautiful seaside start.
The marathon course is USTAF-certified and is a Boston Marathon Qualifier.
The Beach Mile will start at 11:30am, on the beach adjacent to the finish line. It is an out and back on Easton’s Beach, finishing under the Race Arch. As the race is on the beach, please plan for uneven surfaces, beach debris, seaweed, shells, all those wonderful items that we love about the ocean. This will be part of the challenge of completing the course.
Please respect our native environment – STAY OFF THE DUNES, use trash receptacles, and recycle as much as possible.

To that end, Newport Rhode Races is mindful of the event impact on our community and seek to make positive change focused on these tenants. Our goal is to leave the race course in better shape then we found, while fostering a zero-waste event and supporting and raising funds for charities that support this mission. These charities include the Eastern RI Conservation District, Save The Bay, Newport in Bloom, Potter League for Animals and the MLK Center. The event itself is a celebration of human achievement, goal setting, self-esteem building. We encourage foster an active lifestyle for ages 80+ runners to the youngest in our sport where we fund the DreamFar HS marathon team and the Final Mile Youth Running initiative.
The communities of Newport and Middletown are incredibly supportive with cheer stations, patience and support of the runners as they complete these incredible feats of athleticism and are welcoming of race visitors. The event provides a huge economic boost during a typically slow period of the Newport tourist season.
