Athletes laced up on a stunning spring morning for the 2025 Newport Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K, hosted by Rhode Races & Events. Starting and finishing at Easton’s Beach, runners enjoyed coastal views, historic mansions, and vibrant community support across the scenic USATF-certified courses winding through Newport and Middletown. The event kicked off at 7:30 a.m. and
welcomed runners of all experience levels from seasoned marathoners to first-time 5K participants drawing participants from over 40 states and multiple countries.
Marathon Winners
Brett Milden of Mullica Hill, NJ, clinched the men’s marathon title in 2:38:13, followed closely by Ross MacAndrew of East Greenwich, RI (2:38:29) and Patrick Doherty of Manchester, CT (2:39:53).
On the women’s side, Reagan Olivastro of Unionville, CT took top honors with a time of 2:56:38. She was followed by Sarah Myles of Boston, MA (3:00:06) and Alyssa Anderson of Claremont, NH.
Half Marathon Winners
In the half marathon, Robert Brook of Washington, D.C. posted a dominant win with a time of 1:10:53. Jack McLoughlin (Cumberland, RI – 1:16:20) and Daniel Flynn (Roxbury, MA – 1:16:48) rounded out the top three.
Among the top female finishers in the
half marathon were Emma
McDonough of Cranston, RI (2:14:10), Gabrielle Campanelli of New Milford, NJ (2:21:00), and Mckenna Jacobson of Rosemount, MN (2:28:23).
5K Winners
The men’s 5K was led by Ryan Kittredge of Windsor Locks, CT, who broke the tape in 16:21. Matthew Dowling (Syracuse, NY – 16:48) and Chris Cure (Newport, RI – 17:15) followed.
On the women’s side, Caroline Dolan of Jamaica Plain, MA, crossed first in 18:57, ahead of Tasi Rittling (Cumberland, RI – 20:10) and Elise Brown (Hollywood, FL – 20:22).

Thanks to our partnership with Eastern RI Conservation District, our post-race plogging team picked up 250 lbs of trash throughout Newport and Middletown, mostly of non-waste trash. Rhode Races is happy to provide this Spring refresh to the beautiful streets of our community. In total, approximately $15,000 was raised for local charities, including Save The Bay, Potter League for Animals, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, and more.
