Joe Belanger isn’t just an art teacher in Warwick; he’s also a passionate advocate for children in need. For years, he’s combined his love for running with his dedication to giving back, raising over $20,000 for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. His commitment to helping others is evident in his unique approach to fundraising: every race he participates in serves as a platform to support these children and their families.

Through the sponsorship of The Integlia Family Foundation and Hill View Partners, Joe has created a powerful challenge at every race he runs. He starts each race in the last position, symbolizing the hurdles that wish children often face. But the real magic happens as Joe moves forward. For every runner Joe passes, The Integlia Family Foundation and Hill View Partners donate $1 to Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It’s a remarkable way to raise money for a good cause while physically demonstrating the obstacles these children work hard to overcome.

Joe’s efforts aren’t just about running — they’re about making a lasting impact in the lives of those who need it most. His dedication serves as a reminder of the power of community and how small actions can lead to big changes.

Emily Viti’s story is one of incredible resilience and hope. Her son, Christopher, is bravely battling a rare, life-threatening genetic condition. Despite the challenges they face, Emily and her family have found strength in the support of organizations like Make-A-Wish, which granted Christopher a wish to attend Fanatics Fest and meet his hero, David “Big Papi” Ortiz. For a moment, Christopher was able to forget his struggles and simply enjoy being a kid, surrounded by love and inspiration.

The joy and gratitude Emily felt watching her son’s dream come true sparked a deep desire to give back. Now, Emily runs to help raise funds so that other children and families can experience the same magic that made Christopher’s wish possible. Her determination to “wish it forward” serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact a wish can have on a family facing challenging times.

Emily’s journey has turned her personal experience into an opportunity to support others, running with purpose and spreading hope along the way. With every step, she helps raise not only money but awareness of the life-changing wishes that Make-A-Wish grants to children in need.
